Network Upgrades Monday 6th 04:00 - 07:00am
Between the hours of 04:00 - 07:00am Monday 6th we'll be performing a number of network upgrades. We don't expect the downtime to be anywhere near the three hour window but is there simply as a precaution in case of complications.
The first of our two upgrades includes a new Cisco Supervisor engine SUP720-3BXL for our router in Maidenhead. The new SUP720-3BXL (router engine) is capable of holding multiple full routing tables in hardware (approx 1 million routes) and is set to upgrade our Standard SUP720. This is in preparation for our Tiscali feed which should be going live in the next few days as well as future proofing requirements foreseen in the next two years.
The second upgrade in an on-fabric 8 port SX fiber GE card (WS-X6408A) which will be replacing our shared bus GE module card. This card terminates the majority of fiber links from our core switches, larger colo customers and local building inter-connects.
